Welcome to Kapabrake. Woven brake lining specialists.
Kapabrake Woven Brakelining is manufactured for tough industrial, mining and marine conditions.
We produce the brake lining at our factory in Cape Town, South Africa.
We welcome the opportunity for specialist work, unusual sizes and the fitment of the lining to shoes and bands.
All our lining is non asbestos. Kapabrake can perform radial arcing of the lining to ensure optimal mating of the brake lining to the drum.
Mining and heavy industry present engineering challenges that off-the-shelf solutions cannot solve. Extreme heat, constant vibration, corrosive environments, and enormous loads demand systems that are engineered from the ground up for durability.
Kapabrake's engineering philosophy is simple: design for worst-case scenarios, then test beyond them. All brake lining that we ship has been subjected to conditions more extreme than it will ever face in the field.
From standard brake lining to custom-shaped components, our products are engineered to deliver consistent friction performance, thermal stability, and ease of fitment.
Available in 10m rolls or flat sheets, with thicknesses ranging from 6.4mm to 25mm. Other thicknesses available on request.
Cut-to-size linings, shaped shoes and bands, bonded assemblies, and drilled mounting surfaces for a perfect application-specific fit.
Available in a variety of KB (KapaBrake) versions.
Our 3-axis weave and brass wire reinforcement provide wear resistance, heat conduction, and stable friction values. Surfaces are supplied ground for reliable bonding or riveting.
Flexible cold-fit lining can be heat-set at 180°C for exact moulding. We also cure linings to shoes and bands to ensure the best possible fitment.
Brake removal, sandblasting, coating, and relining services are handled in-house with our own blast, paint, and curing facilities.
Precision braking solutions designed for the specific demands of five critical industrial sectors.
